Traditional Astrology, Practical Answers
I’m Chris Chulls, founder of Certified Astrology. I use traditional Hellenistic and medieval techniques to help clients understand the structure of their natal chart, the major cycles currently active in their lives, and the decisions that deserve the most attention.
My readings are not built around generic sign descriptions or vague inspiration. I begin with the chart, establish the relevant natal promises, and focus on the actual question being asked. My goal is to explain what the chart shows in plain language and give you information and strategies you can use.
How I Approach a Reading
Traditional astrology can reveal much more than personality traits. It can show which areas of life are emphasized, which periods are more active or difficult, and when certain actions may be more strongly supported.
Depending on the reading, I may examine sect, planetary condition, house rulership, annual profections, time-lord techniques, firdaria, transits, solar returns, and electional astrology. I use the techniques that are most relevant to your question rather than overwhelming you with every detail in the chart.
The result is a structured reading centered on three things: what is happening, how you got there, and where you have meaningful room to act.
Training and Traditional Study
I have studied astrology, tarot, hermeticism, and Western metaphysics for more than 15 years. My formal training includes Chris Brennan’s Hellenistic Astrology course, Robert Zoller’s Diploma Course in Medieval Astrology, and Ben Dykes’ Persian Astrology curriculum.
My continuing work is grounded in traditional authors and source texts, including Ptolemy, Sahl ibn Bishr, Masha’allah, Abu Ma‘shar, and Bonatti, along with modern translations and scholarship by Ben Dykes and other traditional astrologers.
That historical foundation matters to me. I do not treat astrology as a collection of interchangeable keywords. I study how the techniques were originally structured, how different testimonies are weighed, and how a chart judgment is actually formed.
How I Came to This Work
My interest in astrology began during a difficult period when I was searching for a more coherent way to understand change, timing, and the patterns that repeat throughout a life.
That search eventually led me beyond modern sun-sign astrology and into the older Hellenistic and medieval traditions. What kept me studying was their structure. These methods offer a disciplined way to examine a chart, structure its strength, and determine what matters most.
Astrology gave me a better framework for understanding and bettering the conditions I was working with. That is the same kind of clarity I now try to provide for my clients.
My wider studies include ancient philosophy, history, hermetic tarot, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, meditation, and Western metaphysics. These subjects inform my perspective, but traditional astrology remains the foundation of my professional work.
